The Grey Muzzle Organization has awarded over $7.3 million in grants since 2008 to more than 100 animal welfare groups across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, significantly improving the lives of thousands of at-risk senior dogs. Their funding focuses on medical care, dental procedures, and preventing surrenders for older dogs.

Key accomplishments include:

• Financial Impact: In the 2025-2026 cycle, they awarded a record $1.57 million to 119 animal welfare organizations.
• Direct Care & Outcomes: During the 2024–2025 grant cycle, funded programs provided essential care to 5,576 senior dogs, including 4,533 medical services and 1,878 dental procedures.
• Surrender Prevention: Their initiatives successfully prevented 2,518 senior dog surrenders in the 2024-2025 cycle.
• Support Programs: Funding supports specialized senior dog programs, including hospice care, "Seniors-for-Seniors" adoption programs, and orthopedic bed funds.
• Shelter Support: By funding medical and dental care for dogs in shelters and foster care, they help make older dogs more adoptable, addressing the issue of senior dogs being the first to be euthanized in overcrowded facilities.
