About: The Trevor Project has established itself as the leading national organization providing 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ youth. They have achieved significant impact byproviding free, confidential counseling to millions, advancing legislative bans on conversion therapy, conducting groundbreaking research, and creating safe digital spaces.

Peer Support: TrevorSpace is a welcoming online social community for LGBTQ+ young people between the ages of 13-24 years old. With over 700,000 members across the globe, [anybody] can find support groups and make friends in a moderated online safe space [that was] ntentionally designed [for the user]
Key Accomplishments
- Crisis Services: The Trevor Project operates around-the-clock, 365 days a year, providing crisis counseling via phone, text, and chat. They have handled hundreds of thousands of calls and aim for millions of crisis contacts.
- Legislative Advocacy: Their team has helped pass laws protecting LGBTQ+ youth from conversion therapy in 20 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.. They successfully advocated for bans in states like Virginia and Utah.
- Research & Data: The organization conducts one of the largest annual surveys on LGBTQ+ youth mental health, providing critical data on suicide risks, protective factors, and the impact of discrimination.
- Digital Community (TrevorSpace): They maintain TrevorSpace, a moderated international social networking site for LGBTQ+ youth, which had over 400,000 users in 2021.
- Education & Prevention: They provide training to educators and adults on LGBTQ-competent suicide prevention and have developed model school policies for suicide prevention.
- Technology & AI: The project uses artificial intelligence to help prioritize high-risk, incoming crisis cases, allowing counselors to assist those in need faster.

45% of LGBTQ+ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past twelve months.
Fewer than 1/3 of transgender and non-binary youth found their home to be gender-affirming.
73% of LGBTQ+ youth reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety
